Schweppes was first created in 1783 by jeweller and scientist Jacob Schweppe, an inventor with a thirst for curiosity. It was at this moment that he invented the first ever process of capturing and bottling bubbles and from this carbonation system, Schweppes Soda Water was born – the world’s first ever soft drink.
Soon, a soda factory on London’s Drury Lane followed and before long Schweppes lemonades and tonic waters joined the range. The rest – as they say – is history, and Great Britain has been enjoying the premium taste of Schweppes mixers for over 230 years.
Nowadays, the brand is made up of two ranges - Schweppes Classic and Schweppes Signature – both of which are set apart by the quality of its bubbles. This effervescence means that each Schweppes flavour pairs perfectly with a wide range of spirits, making it the ultimate (and Britain’s favourite) mixer.
